I have found the magic formula to get some of you to talk to me… post a picture and misidentify the people!
So this is actually my Great Grandfather Harrison and his half-sister Cora, in the foreground—not my Great Grandmother Rhoda as I posted at the beginning of the month.
This, however, is my Great Grandmother. She is the older woman in the cat glasses pictured with a few of her children, including my Grandfather Levie immediately behind her.
Keep correcting me. Really!

Saturday also marked the 120th Anniversary of my Great Grandmother Rhoda (Rogers) Trotter’s birth.
I think this is a shot of the porch of the Trotter Homestead. Rhoda and her husband Harrison are the couple in the center of the picture which was taken some time before Harrison’s death in 1975.

It’s reunion/family-get-together season and I’ve got the photos to prove it!
This one’s from 1985. I’m not sure if this was an actual reunion or just a large family gathering.
I only really know my immediate family here. I’m with Mom in the front right and my brother is looking surly with his plate in the front left. I see Grandma and the outline of Grandpa, two of my cousins, three aunts, and three uncles, Great Aunt Lee Ellen (Trotter) Hampton, and Cousin Carol. I’m guessing there are more Hamptons in the shot?
Dad had to have been one of the photographers. How do I know? Because I was making funny faces at the photographer in the next shot and that would only happen to him and my Uncle Christopher. And Chris was in the background of both shots.
This was taken in front of my Grandparents house near the old Detroit City Airport, Detroit, Michigan.

Tomorrow is the 100th Anniversary of the birth of my Great Aunt Rosie Lee Trotter Johnson. To the best of our knowledge she was oldest child of Harrison and Rhoda (Rogers) Trotter. She married Leroy Johnson in August of 1932 and the couple had nine children.
The digital file is from my father’s collection but the originals were turned in during a call for photos before our last Trotter-Rogers Reunion.

This is my Great Grandmother Rhoda (Rogers) Trotter who would have turned 118 today (or tomorrow—there appears to be some disagreement between the documents and between family members) along with three of her children. Love the glasses! In back is my Grandpa Levie, in the middle is Aunt Lee Ellen (Trotter) Hampton, and on the end is Uncle Graham. Rhoda was the daughter of Pete and Mattie (Martin) Rogers. She married Harrison Trotter in 1911 and was the mother of 14 children. What few pictures I have seen and the stories I have heard make me wish I had met my Grandma (and Papa Monk).She died in 1981.

This is a shot found among my grandparents photo collection. This is my great grandmother, Rhoda Rogers Trotter, and three children. There have been great family debates on the identity of the children but I am assured there was only one Rhoda. It was probably taken in Bradley County, Arkansas. I don’t have a lot of information about the Rogers family. I know Rhoda (also called Rhodie) was the daughter of Pete and Mattie (Martin) Rogers. I believe she was born in 1894 and she died in 1981. She married my great grandfather, Harrison Trotter, in 1911 and they had 15 children.
